Pinot Noir for Game Night

If you’re anything like us, a good game night with friends is your ultimate night in. Game nights are cozy, engaging, fun, and best of all, a perfect pairing with your favorite wine. We recently paired game night with this Presqu’ile Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir ($25), which brings intrigue and nuance to the table just like the best strategy games. This cool-climate Pinot Noir evokes a complex blend of red fruit, earth notes, and white pepper. If you’ve never experienced a Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara, give this one a whirl!

Presqu’ile (pronounced ‘press-keel’) is a family-owned winery in the Santa Maria Valley along Central Coastal California. Presqu’ile is Creole for “almost an island,” and was the gathering place for the Murphy family on the Gulf Coast until Hurricane Katrina ended an era in 2005. In 2007, Madison and Suzanne Murphy, along with their children, Matt, Anna and Jonathan, and their two daughters-in-law—purchased 200 acres in California’s Santa Maria Valley. They’ve since been growing grapes across 73 acres of certified sustainably farmed vineyards and making a variety of elegant wines.
